On 4, June 2015, Education Ambassadors SA published an opportunity available on SABC 3 TV channel where they were working together with the 'Made In SA' reality TV show looking for youth to join this reality series. I then decided to give it a shot as I believed in my talent. What started as an opportunity to inform the youth of South Africa more about my goal of persuading career in Corporate and marketing communication and what I have done to reach that goal which led to me discovering my passion. Through the effort of Education Ambassadors SA, a producer of the show told me I was chosen as one of the young South African people who will be featured on their 26 episodes season 3 show.
During the shooting of the show I had a chance to tell the story of how I hustled and worked hard to get to where I am today and about the people that assisted me. But most importantly I had an opportunity to become FNB eBucks’ Corporate Communication Officer for a day, whereby I had a task to come up with a communication plan for their annual festive campaign that runs from October up until December. The communication plan focused on three aspects of communication: Internal communication, Public relations and Corporate Social Investment. I created an internal communication poster for them that was good to an extend that they brought it to life in a fabric format for me; I would not be surprised if they use it to inform their employees about the campaign.
That moment was a momentous and major one in my life. However, during the show the most important moment was when I realised that I actually love being in front of the camera and following scripts. That process proved to me that my passion is actually acting. I am currently doing my final year in BA Communications at the North-West University in order to be able to reach my goal and I am also doing acting and modeling in my spare time. I know one day somehow it is going to get to a point where I have to choose between my career and passion but it is okay; it will be a win-win situation for me because I love and enjoy both of them. I would like to thank Education Ambassadors SA for the opportunity they granted me which helped me realise something else that I am good at. Keep up the great work you are doing for South African youth.
