- A challenging, structured two-year programme at one of the four sugar mills along the KZN North Coast or a sugar refinery close to Durban
- Hands-on experience within one of the most technically advanced cane sugar producers in
- the world
- Comprehensive application of engineering principles in design, development and operational roles
Requirements
Minimum BTech or BEng in the following Disciplines
- Chemical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current/Power)
The ideal candidate will have the following competencies:
Ability
- Analyse and interpret professional engineering reports and recommendations, and thus take appropriate action
- Apply engineering principles and practices for complex problem-solving
- Communicate sound engineering insights and solutions
- Conceptualise and implement changes which are required so that the engineering function is optimised
- Evaluate and/or analyse systems
- Interface with engineering disciplines to meet functional and/or project management objectives
- Interpret statutory and/or company policy requirements as these may impact on the Engineering function or discipline
- Manage resources associated to engineering functions
- Organise the scheduling and timeous delivery of resources required for engineering Projects
- Prepare estimates of production costs/progress reports for management
Experience
- Applying chemical/electrical/mechanical engineering to resolve problems
- Effective time management
- Technical troubleshooting
- Making persuasive and compelling technical presentations
Knowledge
- Creative, lateral thinking and problem-solving approaches
- Project management principles and techniques
