I&J has a Mechanical Engineering Graduate opportunity in Woodstock, Western Cape.
This two year program will expose the graduate to various technical and commercial environments within the fishing industry; where they will gain experience in fishing trawlers and processing operations. The graduate will get involved in several optimization projects as well as other strategic initiatives across the business.
The I&J Business will expose the graduate to the following:
- Experience in a highly specialised field
- International fishing and manufacturing processes
- Supply chain optimisation projects
- Vessel refurbishments and additional projects
- Performance and process optimisation
- Dry dock projects focused on improving turnaround time
- Continuous process improvements
- New packaging and refrigeration processes
- A complex vertically integrated value chain – from Capital Intensive Vessels and Production through to Domestic and International customers, marketing and selling via the I&J Brand
- Best practice International fishing and manufacturing competencies
- Vertically integrated, Domestic and International Supply Chain
- Complex (Nature, cost and extent) Capital Project involvement
- Process performance improvement and optimisation projects
- Commercial exposure to product innovation for Domestic and International Customers
Requirements
- Final year of Mechanical Engineering with good interim results
- Proven leadership abilities (i.e. part-time work experience, leading projects, leading clubs, etc.)
- Strong technical ability
