PR Intern Wanted at MNET: Afrikaans Channels

M-Net seeks to appoint a suitably qualified Employment Equity individual to assume the role of PR Intern: Afrikaans Channels. This person will report to the Head of Marketing, and will be based at our offices in Randburg.

(Products, services, programs and information which the individual must provide to external individuals or groups, or one another to accomplish the organization’s mission and strategy)

• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders
• Planning and writing creative Press Releases
• Communicate schedule changes with media
• Assist with media management at all events and promotions
• Generate guestlists ,invite media and manage RSVP’s
• Maintaining and building media relationships
• Ongoing media liaison with media and assist with requests
• Assisting on various station promotions with regards to the PR element
• Ongoing monitoring of all media
• Attend Meetings
• Work closely with PR Assistants, Executives and Manager
• Archive and maintain photographic and video library of all projects
• Ensure that content (visuals and materials) are received on time, requirements have been established and formatting meets media requirements to deliver on time
• Press Release briefing and distribution
• Synopsis editing for Afrikaans Channels when required
• Identify and pitch publicity opportunities for Afrikaans Channels to media
• Photo shoots planning and coordination
• Status report drafting
• Admin assistance

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree/diploma in journalism or communications
• 2-3 years journalism experience
• TV industry knowledge would be an advantage
• Computer literacy -Windows, MS Office packages
• Must be fluent in Afrikaans
