The DCS is looking for persons from various communities, interests and appropriate qualifications to enter into Further Education and Training Certificate in Corrections Services Learnership (NQF Level 4).
The opportunity to acquire skills, knowledge and workplace experience in the field of Corrections and earn a stipend of R 3500. 00 for the twelve months duration of the learnership.
The learners will be trained in the areas of rehabilitation of offenders through correction and human development in secure, safe and humane detention or under the community based correctional supervision.
English will be used as the medium of instruction.
Basic enlistment requirements:
- South Africans who are in possession of the Grade 12/Standards 10; or
- South Africans who have successfully completed the National Certificate in Vocational Studies (NQF Level 4); or
- South Africans who have successfully completed a further Education and Training Certificate NQF (Level 4)
Furthermore, applicants must be South Africans who:
i. Are least 18-35 years;
ii. Have strong character;
iii. Are prepared to allow their fingerprints to be taken to allow the background check-ups and enquiries to be done;
iv. Are law-abiding citizens and are without criminal records (particulars of the pending criminal cases must be provided during the interviewing process).
v. Are prepared to subject themselves to interviews and selection conducted by DCS.
vi. Are prepared to disclose information and allow DCS to verify their submitted qualifications, and citizenship.
vii. Are prepared to be subject to psychometric testing by the DCS.
