The Motsepe Foundation will visit all the 9 Provinces in South Africa and hold meetings at all the 23 District Municipality/Metro – Motsepe Foundation Development Forums in South Africa and establish three new District Municipality/Metro – Motsepe Foundation Development Forums in KwaZulu Natal, Gauteng and the Eastern Cape and will also allocate R30 million (R10 million each) to the three newly established District Municipality/Metro-Motsepe Foundation Development Forums.

The Founder and Chairman of the Motsepe Foundation, Mr Patrice Motsepe said:

“Millions of South Africans are poor, unemployed and do not participate or benefit from the development and growth of the economy. The Motsepe Foundation is committed to continue making a humble contribution to the improvement and upliftment of their living conditions and lifestyles.

We will once more visit all the 23 District Municipality/Metro – Motsepe Foundation Development Forums in South Africa to conduct meetings with the local residents and other stakeholders to:

– evaluate the progress and impact of the projects that were initiated and funded since the formation of each District Municipality/Metro – Motsepe Foundation Development Forum and

– discuss the new projects that may be funded with the remainder of the funding that has been allocated to each District Municipality/Metro – Motsepe Foundation Development Forum.

“We knew that there would be challenges associated with the District Municipality/Metro – Motsepe Foundation Development Forums identifying and recommending projects for funding but we were keen to empower the local communities to take ownership of their development and upliftment processes and initiatives.”
